Hi, I'm Ivan Martens
For 25 years I worked hands-on in the building trades as a general contractor—everything from foundations and framing to windows, doors, roofing, flooring, cabinets, tile, stairs, and mechanical systems. I know homes inside and out because I've built and repaired hundreds of them in the Colorado foothills.
Along the way I took a detour to earn my electrical engineering degree from Colorado School of Mines. It was a fantastic learning experience, but it also reminded me how much I crave hands-on work.
Today I specialize in radon mitigation, bringing all that remodeling and engineering expertise to every job. I design and install quiet, reliable systems that protect your family without turning your home into a construction zone. Pipes are routed neatly, vents blend in, and the finished result looks like it belongs—because your house should stay beautiful while becoming safer.

Who actually does the work?
Ivan does. From the free on-site assessment to the finished, working install, every project is handled personally. There are no crews sent out under a brand name and no subcontractors doing the install. The person who quotes the job is the person who builds it.
How does a building and engineering background change the work?
Twenty-five years in the building trades means knowing how homes are actually put together, so a system can be routed cleanly instead of forced through the easiest path. The electrical engineering degree from Colorado School of Mines helps with the fan wiring and with sizing a system that moves the right amount of air. Together they are why the finished work tends to look like it belongs on the house.
What does lifetime workmanship coverage mean?
It means Ivan stands behind his own workmanship for as long as Martens Radon is in business. If something about the installation needs attention, it gets taken care of, and the coverage is backed by the person who did the work rather than passed off to a third party. The fan itself is a manufactured part and carries its own manufacturer warranty.
How low will my radon level end up?
Most homes we mitigate drop below 2.0 pCi/L, which is well under the EPA action level of 4.0. Every system includes a U-tube manometer that shows it is holding vacuum, and a follow-up radon test is available if you want the new level verified.
